or not. the 250es is a utility trike, 250sx isn't a sport, but it's got better suspension, lighter, and smaller tires. 250es comes with racks and can tow ALOT (250sx can tow also though) and bigger tires, making it a good hunting or yard work trike.

SX has racks too...had some on my 85.(rear only) Pretty quick 4 stroke 250cc though. Suspension was smooth....but yeah its lighter, faster, its more sporty, but it can do the job of a es....

Well, here's what I know: ES=utility/SX=sport utility, ES=25x12x9 tires/SX=22x11x8, ES=3.2 gal. tank/SX=2.6 ES= hi-lo range trans./SX=not(but 1st gear is so low,don't know why you'd need lower???)
Both have elec. start,reverse,headlight/taillight,12 volt elec. system, frt. & rear racks. SX is lighter & better suspension (still not great, but I'm working on that on mine!) hence SPORT UTILITY. Guess it all depends on your needs, but for work & play it's " SX " all the way !!!!

p.s. gotta leave ya with a pic of mine (not quite all original) ;)

200 ES may have had a high and low range but I dont think any 250ES did.
They all had the super-low + 4 and Reverse transmission

Ivan T, You are correct!! The 250es's here are the same way ( No Hi/Lo ). Only the 200cc Model Big Reds had Hi/Lo .

The 250es and the 250sx are basically the same motor.
