200x axle?

How can you tell the diffrence between the 83-85 & 86-87 axle? Is there any way I can measure it or count the splines to tell which one it is for?

the carrier is diffrent. I dont believe that they mount the same way

I need to know how to tell one axle from the other. A guys has 2 of them one is a 84 the other a 86. I am looking for a 86.

they take the same bearing kit. I think its some thing in the lenth of the carrier
