Is the rear end houseing and the axle tubes on a honda 250sx the exact same as on the 250es. I am looking for the left side (short) axle tube and I have seen them on ebay for the 250sx and I would like to know if they will work on my '85 250es.

That sounds like a good deal dads, Is the bearings in useable condition or will they have to be replaced? Also do you have any more 250es parts?
It has no bearings in it. I have SX parts so only the ones that interchange. I have bearing kits for it. rear axle kit 85 250es $56.50 86/87 250es $45.67 . + shipping.

I was under the impression they were different. The axles are definately [/*]different lengths. I have one or two of those axle tubes for a 85 ES at the house if im not mistaken. Swingarm too.

Yeah I seen this post this morning and I am thinking there is a difference also. No matter what my manuals say or the pics look like.
I am positive the sx uses a shorter tube on the left side.

O.k. Thats good to know! So CLay, Let me know if you have One at the house. I would prefer on ewith usable bearings in it if you have one. Just let me kno wwhat you have and how much? I messed up the threads on my axle but won one off ebay so I should have it in a week or so. Also there is a '86 Big Red in Americus, Ga on ebay I am probly going to bid on as long as it stays real low. Not much parts but if its cheap I will drive an hour or so to get what parts I can.

Let me get my axle in, I may still be able to use the one I have, I think that I may have pushed the bearings into the tube to far. When the axle gets in I will be able to see if I have it right now. But I will let you know.
