heres mine, I plane on changing it to red with white frame.
Blazer I have the perfect idea for you on that Tecate. go back with green plastics, polish everything that is aluminum except for the engine, only do the case covers. do the cases and cylinder kawasaki green. paint the frame, front and rear hubs, cylinder head, and the suspension linkage purple.
do the engine up with a SR 330 kit and you will have monster that i have always thought was really cool. The Incredible Hulk.
oh yea and a pic of tecate.

ATCWRENCH,
I like your T. Why are you changing it to red?I think it looks tough white,Or go green like you are talking about. That would be sweet.Kawie green color kicks ass.I thought about doing my Z frame and accents lime green,But figured I would catch Hell from the T guys.LOLOLOLOL:lol:

ATCWrench, sounds like you are describing Meat Box's Kawi. As for the red w/ white frame, that is the look that I like.

the white fenders I cant get anymore, where they were I gotten I dont know as this is the way i bought it. the tank is originally green and painted white. rear fenders are cracked and really flimsy at the moment.
I've always liked the A1-2 T3's in red, makes them look aggressive in my opinion. and yea all the guys around here are saying that i'm trying to make it look like a honda, and to a point it will look like a honda just for the fact that it will be red instead of green.
if and when I get another T3 I was planning on doing the incredible hulk theme but since Blazer needs a theme (or input) I figured he could give it a shot and have something different but still be able to tell that it was a Tecate

Well, I already know I am going with red plastics, franks plus 4 swingarm, I've rubbed a little mothers on the cases, thats still a work in progress. What is there for extended axles? I've have not decided on the frame colors yet.

Are you going to be duning it or trail/woods riding?

Yeah were outta luck on chain guides. I have a blue Travelcade cover on it now 3Razors, I was just anxious to ride lol.
Sand trikes are so sweet, I hate having my bike covered in mud and crap but oh well. Plus with all the topend power the Tecate makes it'll be a real winner.
I think you should go with a white frame and red pastics like ange's Tecate.

Here's my 85 before the franks+2 swinger and green number plate. I still don't have them installed yet. I need to do something with the motor color(jug and bottom end) don't know if I should just have it repainted black or not. I've had alot of parts chromed: dogbone, footpegs, breakpetal, pipe, shock mounts.

Thats a nice tecate. I wanted to go green, but I dig the red...
I found a pic of my old red bike. Has anyone bought a red maier rear fender lately? I picked up a new red oem front fender from a board member, I was wondering if they would match.

for an extended axle you can goto a 86 axle. you have to use the 86 axle, brakes, sprocket, and carrier. it slides into the 85 swinger and is wider.

Well I sent in a few E-Mails to get my Restoration Page updated. It hasnt beeen done yet. I will show what I started with, what I got now and what I need to do to finish it. By The way I love seeing the Tecates, all you usually see is Hondas.
I need to get that Cal-Fab Polished and the Raptor Shock installed. Then some progressive Fork Springs a wider Axle and someday I want to Bling out the Motor. I seem to have misplaced my Headlight but I see NOS ones on E-Bay for like $46. I think I set mine up with a Honda Headlight when I did the wiring. Everything on this is new or restored. $5000 worth so dont think it will be easy. It took me about 10 years and it doesnt even compare looks wise to alot of the Trick rides here.
I got to get my hands on the Bearing Pushers we made for the restoration. That Cal-Fab needs new bearings.
If interested my Tecate Project is on the Restoration Page, I allso have many pictures of the restoration in case you have a problem and need to see something. We tooled up Bearing pushers for the whole project, and I need to get them from my Buddy.

Is the tank on tecate4life's jimmy white bike a short track or the KX tank. Kinda looks like a KX tank to me. Oh and if it is what years? 85 ish? Oh and for whover was asking about what was missing from that tecate was it is the chain and pipe/ silencer.
BigGreenMachine
12-08-2005, 09:14 PM
From what Tecate4life has told me its an 85 tank with custom made shrouds. I bought an 85 Kx500 tank and its nowhere near close to fitting though.
90nut
12-08-2005, 10:18 PM
Well I did some looking and it APPEARS to be a 85 kx 250 tank. The shrouds look to be cut down. Looks like I will be getting one of thise and the radiators as soon as I find one.
ATCWRENCH
12-08-2005, 11:24 PM
I was all over that tank for a match and it is a tank for an 84 kx 250, shrouds and all(the shrouds may be custom for the wider front end but appear factory). since seeing that i am going to do that swap to get the rad off of the tripples, cant stand it there.
yea I know its cheesy to copy someone but hey, you see something you like go for it, but I give credit where its due.
BigGreenMachine
12-09-2005, 01:05 AM
It is indeed a sweet look. I found the KX shrouds are also in the way and make the steering lock less then the stock tank. Tecate4life claims with his tank he has complete clearance for the tubes, meaning the tripples will hit the frame ** the tank.

Everything came out nice and smooth. my powdercoater does a great job, he sanded and smoothed the dings I had on the sliders, and the frame came out sweet. I guess its time to go to work putting it together.
The lighting is really crappy so this is the best picture I took while unloading it.

It runs like a raped ape, tons of topend (but my motor is ported so i couldn't compare) As far as being loud, mine is super duper loud, it might be the packing or something. But i remember a couple rides ago i was riding with smokinwrench, and the rest of the mwt guys. I was a couple bikes back from his R (he was leading the group on a trail ride) and he said the whole time he could here mine like it was himself riding it:( I would compare this pipe to the same loudness as my silenced drag pipe if that helps any (nope  ) I would go take a pic of the pipe but, my Z is in the trailor and in a shed for a while.

Man thats a good looking color scheme and it Blings in all the right palces. Is that a Franks swinger. It would be real sweet if you bought that Brand new Champion swinger thats on E-Bay.
Makes my Tecate look ugly. I need to get my Cal-Fab polished and the 01 Raptor Shock on and some other items chromed. Paint the motor. Its hard to keep up with all these sick restorations. I want to run the 86 Carrier and rear end stuff so I can have a Thicker and Longer Durablue Axle. I cant wait untill I get my funds to finish it.

I considered running that aircooler tank on there. It would fit with a little trimming on the tail of the tank. Well, I decided to go with the fat tire, I bought a sandstar for the front, then Holeshots mounted up on the stock rims for dirt. I put my first chip in the powdercoat tonight mounting up the linkage, I'm a little pissed now... Oh well...

I found out they are still available, at least for the time being.
I tried on a blaster or a banshee slider on a spare 84 swingarm the other day and it fit it like a glove, I'll take a pic of the slider because I'm not 100% certain it was off a yammy.
BLAZERONE22

Here's a pic of the slider.... Maybe its not yammy... Well yesterday I got the radiator on and axle slid in. If anyone needs a stiffer spring, keep in mind a lq 250r spring works perfect on a tecate shock, I used my custom made spring on the tecate... Also the chrome axle nuts off the 84 250r fit the tecate axle.
Dirtface, I have a new OEM red front fender but no luck so far on the red rear, I'd like to pick up a used red one and shave it, I ordered a maeir for it though.

Basically yeah, I had a spring made for my 250r a while back, Its the same od and lenth as the tecate spring. I had my tecate shock revalved for it, but to someone that just wanted to stiffen it up a little, a 250r spring is a little stiffer.

01-02-2006, 09:22 PM
The only wiring I have is a tether kill switch and I routed the wires throught the holes in the neck of the headtube. The stator wires follow the downtube up and under the tank and the rest of the under the tank wiring is rather straight foward. Hope that helped.
BLAZERONE22
01-02-2006, 09:39 PM
I'd like to get them routed correctly, Damn Honda manual spends pages on this. it shows you the routing of the throttle, clutch, main harness, overflow tube, and all the other stuff. Tecate manual just plain sucks... I have most everything routed correctly except for a wire thats coming up short from the CDI to the on/off switch, I'm using the 84 switch. I might just have the cdi mounted ass backwards, the only pic of a cdi shows the wires running away from the exhuast pipe, I double checked the 84 cdi and the 85 wires are the same lenth. I took a bunch of pictures before I tore the bike down but Joy deleted everything off the card before I downloaded them...

Used to make them about 4 years ago. He said they might make a batch if they got an order for 10-20 of them. Im down for one, any other Takers on a Billit Rear Bearing Carrier for your 84-85 Tecate?
I see alot of Sweet Tecates on this thread that could use something like that. Buy em or lose them forever. He said they may even have the Drawings of the 84-85. I may ask to buy them and have them machined by someone. It would be nice to have blueprints of a Part like that so one could be made whenever someone needs one. If not there wont be many Tecates around 20 Years from now.
$1,400 for 10 of em to be made. Thats a little less than $150 each. We need at least 10 people who will want one for the 84-85 Tecate. Same with 86 Im sure.
