Was runningfine until i removed the CDI and coil, ran the morning i took them off and when i put them back on the same day in the evening all it does is backfire. Ive checked i got fuel and nice blue spark. To me this says timing but i have the CDI unit correctly hooked up. The reason i removed the CDI was to try it on another bike, could this have screwed it up making it change the timing?
as i said, i havent changed anything else and the bike ran in the morning.
Thanks, Will

All jokes aside ---and I hate to be a nutcracker-----Did the cam key fall out when you moved the Rotor?
