what can I use to replace the old rotten filter foam on my 79 atc110? Can I just pick up some foam at the local autozone or auto store???

in an emergency, Nylon stockings work well . double them up, I just dont think they would work long term. If you absolutely cant find an air filter- yeah- Auto zone ----Ya Do What Ya Gotta Do

If you cant get a universal one or a specific one for it, Menards sells foam lawnmower filters for next to nothing, but Id get a cheap universal before stockings LOL

That black foam sheet they put on the front of the air conditioner, $2.00 for 3 sheets, sew it together and slip it on. Done it, it works, but Id oil it well.

Ya, get the real thing or you might as well save up for a rebuild when the dirt gets around the seal of your hommade air filter. Mine had an autozone shop rag in there the previous owner used and it smoked like your great granpappy's ride to californiastan back in '49. Here take a look at it from a few years ago the first weekend after I bought it. http://home.elp.rr.com/pi8tures/185%20s%20smoky%20ride.JPG :banned: I don't have an update as of yet but it doesnt smoke that bad anymore. Can you tell where I am at in this picture? http://home.elp.rr.com/pi8tures/ride2%20@%20640%20.JPG No, that is not dirt from the road that you see.

Bikebandit.com still sells them... they are ~$13. Uni makes a universal cut/glue to fit foam filter element, it's Uni green... I have a red uni that you can have, if you pay for shipping... it's the round style and should work. I could measure the inner diameter of the hole if you'd like... James
