I read the previous threads and was asking myself, "ok so you have to lean out the carb and drill a hole in it for it to work, Why bother".
Now how many of you put them on completely stock machines and never touched the jetting and saw a gain in performance? I'm especially talking about the utility trikes.
If this thing acts like a fuel injection system i might buy it so when I change pipes and filters I dont have to worry about jetting. But what happens when it breaks  ?

this link will tell you everything you want to know. I had one on my tri-z and it worked great but now im running a different filter and carb setup so now it's not installed. Im not sure on how good they work on a 4 stroke though. I have one forsale if you want to buy one.

If anyone can say that it works on a 4-stroke, and wheeliepop doesn't buy yours from you, I will probably buy it. I had to rejet my carb after putting on my Supertrapp, and then when it got cold I had to either rejet or take it from 12 discs to 4 or else it didn't have the power it usually does. Its a hassel. Anyone know of how it works on 4 strokes?

Edog has it on his 4 stroke. How is it DOG??

How much do they cost brand new? Their site has them for the ATC 250SX.. but no price.
It works very well. The performance mods i have done make it worth it.I have found 1 perfect setting for it.Throttle responce improved, power was a little noticable. The gas millage got alot better. It was already good enough.
It was a little pricey.
$99 for the kit.The Dial a jet and snorkal kit.

Is the snorkel required?
And would the Tri-Z Dial-a-Jet fit the SX???
Here are some old pics instaled on my 225.

So if I were to put 12 discs on my Supertrapp, take the airbox lid off, and ride it in the winter.. It would be fine? Thats awesome.

the tri-z and the SX are differnt numbers otherwise I would have bought it by now. the SX is DJ-109-AH and the triZ is DJ-112-AY

Ok then. I'll just buy it. If it doesn't work on it, I can always re-sell it.

The dial-a-jets are all the same. Mine is identical as edogs. Dont know why the part#'s are different? Mine come with the snorkal kit too.

Careful about that one. i had my throttle linkage freeze up because of that.

How did it freeze up?
I'm not planning on taking my airbox lid off.. it was kind of theoretical, but how did it freeze up?

I think I got some snow in the filter and it got to the carb and melted. Then I let it sit outside and in the morning she was Froze. Had to thaw it out to ride.

Haha.. geez. The only time I would ever consider taking my airbox lid off is in summer. And I'd probly put it back on when it rained. I never did it because of the hassle of rejetting though.

how hard is it to install one of these? and what do you have to cut/drill into to install it
Drill a small hole under the intake side of the carb. This is where it goes on larger carbs than the one on my 225.

looks like you drill a tiny hole (the size of the needle piece) into either your airbox tube to the carb (needs a kit) or the carb mouth that goes to the engine. Then just connect it to your bowl overflow with the tube, turn the overflow on and your set. Then just adjust the dial to find peek performance.

Just one thing----How do you "Lean-Down"? shutting off the extra fuel -leaves you back where you started?
Tri-ZNate

Rejet to a smaller size and as you need the fuel it will be added

Start-off too lean-and use the D_A_J to correct it?
There is no overflow to turn on.It works under engine load. The only little draw back i have with it is....when you lift it into the truck it floods it.The fuel has no where to go.Then when you take it out it floods it again. If you let it sit for a little bit it should start up.

That's weird, I never had that problem.:wondering

I don't get that. So going up a steep hill with it would flood it and kill it?

the tri-z and the SX are differnt numbers otherwise I would have bought it by now. the SX is DJ-109-AH and the triZ is DJ-112-AYActually the Part# on my box is DJ-110. It was originally bought for a banshee witch them kits come in pairs and they guy desided he didn't want them so i bought just 1 off from him and put it on my tri-z.

Yup, that is the idea.
The back of the truck was high.Over 45 degrees.

I've got a DAJ for a Z. Been wondering if it's the exact same thing as the R. I'd rather put it on there.

I just got the phone with them and they said all the 2 stoke ones are all the same and the 4 stroke ones are all the same. Their is a diffrerence betweent the 2 and 4 stroke ones. The 2 stroke ones have a slightly larger fuel dilevery tube for a richer mix and the 4 stroke ones are smaller and leaner. He said that they sell just the tubes if you want to witch them out for a 4 stroke. Let me know if anyone still wants this.

Would it really hurt to put the 2 stroke one on the 4 stroke engine? I don't think that it would hurt/know how it could hurt..

I have on on my R and I love it, but thats not a 4 stroke, but my cousins 250SX is and he really likes it. It does making tuning a breeze regardless of engine type IMO...I have never had a problem nor has he and I personally have noticed better throttle response (maybe just a 2 stroke thing??) I reccomend it

I have one for a TRI-Z on my 83R...no problems what so ever...and twgranger is right about the universal thing.
