Well what is the diffrence between the wiesco rings and the stock OEM rings, it says they cant be used with the stock piston?
Thats true. You have to use wiseco rings with wiseco pistons

As far as I ve been told --the wiseco pistons have a thicker ring groove. they would be too "THick" to fit on a stocker piston

well apparently any way the 87 200x rings are the same as the 84 200s rings i bought a year ago, i probobly should of checked lol
Wiseco rings are bigger, and are designed for the Forged piston wich expands more....unlike the cast stocker.

I thought that the 86 and 87 200x's had a larger piston than any of the other 200cc atc's??? Isn't the displacement more too??? So your 86 or 87 200x should need larger than standard bore rings than the earlier 84 200s right???

Yea, thats right
84-85 diplacement - 198cc
86-87 " " - 200cc
I dont think the rings would fit. Were did you hear that the would?

Wiesco says they are the same, the bore is the same, its the stroke thats diffrent. look at the specs i would think its fine as long as the bore is the same, pro x says the same thing as wiesco
yeah i just looked up the specs, the bore is the same, the strokes are diffrent, if you guys can go look at a Displasment finder, and it should list the bore and the stroke, the bore and stroke on the 87 200x is 65 x 60.0 mm, the bore and stroke on the 84 200s is 65 x 57.8 mm the displasment finderi ofuns tells me that the 200s has 191.8ccs and the 200x has 199.1cc's>? it should be the same.

yes - the bores are Identical--The difference in displacement comes from the added stroke length. I dont think rings should "CARE" how far down they travel, as long as you have a fresh bore with no ridges.

yeah the only reason i knew that was because KTM dose the same thing on a few of there engines
