I have had it I want black plastic but the price is way to high for me. I am going to attempt to make carbon fiber fenders for my 200x when im on break. It cant be that hard. anyne ever done this. I worked in a mold shop one summer. so making a mold is out of the question. any help would be great.

The word Expensive is relative... Some are willing to pay upwards of 4 and 5 hundred dollars for NOS plastic, so if someone on our boards had the ability to make carbon fiber fenders through their employer or a relative's shop for $250 or $300, I think that would be reasonable considering what people spend on their sportbikes carbon fairings.... Granted, a 250R is not exactly a Ducati 998, but to some it's still important....

Im ganna do it it dosent look that hard at all. My friend makes carbon hoods for imports so im just going to make him a mold out of some old fenders that I have and see what he can do I figure it wont be more than $100 for the weave and resin unless he has some I could use. He has he vac and all that jaz so I just hope it works. Then I'll put them on ebay and onestop will buy them all. ha

I think it would be brittle. Carbon fiber is very strong but hanging off the fenders, vibration and the holes for the brackets will be problems. It may work. Good luck, let us know what happens.
