1st question I was adjusting the idle screw on my 125m and I have it idling that when I shift to first it starts going on its own/idling at about 5 mph. Am I idling it to high, what should perfect idle be like? 2nd question. Then I was riding around for a while and it started to bog out and die. When I got it going again and gave it some gas it died. Could this be because of to high of idle?

Sounds like the idle is too high. It should be smooth sounding but almost ready to stall but not quite. I don't think too high an idle would cause the bogging and stalling. Stupid question but was the gas turned on? How is the spark plug looking? Maybe needs more air. Is the filter clean?

Is the tank rusted on the inside? If so clean the carb.

The tank was rusted, but I got it steamed. Somebody said something about bb's in the gas tank. How does that work and does it work good? If somebody says it works good i might give it a try. I will go out and adjust the idle, thanks dovesprings. I cleaned the carb about 2 weeks ago. I got a brand new airfilter but the spark is there but not the best. what can I do about that. Thank you
Use Kreem in the gas tank.It is a 3 part step.Make shure you order all of them.Follow dirrections very careful. You can get it at www.denniskirk.com

youl want to test all of the electrical components first, but i dont know the ohm specs right off hand. with every older bike ive owned, i check all of the grounds and connections, and resolder what needs resoldered.

Carbs can eat a glob of rust as soon as you start them--Clean the carb again before chasing a ghost.

I had the same "idling problem" on my 1984 125m. My idle was set too high/fast, and the clutch was a dab outta whack. I just reset the idle, not the clutch, and havent had a problem since.
Also, when it is cold outside, and I have a farily used plug I notice the same bogging and dying thing.

Yea, all of my wiring is good. Ill probably take the carb off and clean it some time this winter. And it is nice to see that someone is having that same boggin problem. I found out the problem with the spark. Im a little embarassed about this one but I have flooded it a couple times so the plug is oily. Slip in the old plug and it had a lot of spark. But anybody know why it might be bogging exept for the carb. ASnd I was wondering about BB's in the gas tank, does it work, has anyone tried it. How do I do it. Thanks

well, i found out what was wrong, nobody got it right, the gas was frozen in the gas filter and wouldnt alow gas through to the rest of the carb and the engine. Ill poor in some gas line anti freeze about 1 half of a bottle or 1 quarter of a bottle. Thanks anyways though you guys!

wait a second so a frozen filter made it idle high?

no, about the boggin out problem, when i gave it gas and popped it in to 2nd it would bog out and kill but it was because it wasnt getting enough gas.
