I want to get one. I contacted Magura directly (the distributor) and they were clueless. They sais that if the ATC is the same as the TRX, then it should be OK, but before I spend $300 on a clutch cable I want to have conficence that it will be the right length and fit correctly. So, no but if someone has some input, I'd buy one.

I can confirm that the Magura hydraulic clutch kit for the TRX 250R does indeed fit the 85/86 ATC 250R. It is a nice piece, and the trickness factor is high, but honestly, I don't think that it works any better than a properly lubed cable.
You don't have to pay $300, by the way. I found mine, new in the box, on eBay for about $180.
Hope this helps.

What is the major consideration to find the right hyd. clutch to fit any bike? Would it be the cable, cable end, length? I would think the resovour and lever itself would be the same on all bikes.

I would think the major thing would be the motor mounting setup. Since the TRX and the ATC have the same motor, the only other consideration would be the length. And Rockymountainatv has 'em for $200.
