Help- ?
The last few days my yt125 has been running like garbage- lean surge , racing away -then wont idle at all, screams away and settles back to normal after 1/4 turn of the air screw. It ran out of fuel about a week ago- Drained the carb - cleaned the jets and pilot - put it back together and popped the spark plug out , just for the hell of it- Nice mild tan color - but the gap was almost closed! It wasnt like that when I put it in?? Regapped it and put it back in and It ran like it was Brand new- whacked it and it almost left me behind.Ran it most of today , stopped for dinner and it wont idle again- plug is closed again--What Gives?????

plug might be too long hitting the top of your piston, try buying one that is made for the model....

Wouldnt that make a hell of a noise? and damage a piston top?

Not if it is just touching it enough to close it a few thousandths. Like was already said, get the correct plug for it or you might end up having some major problems.

If you have the correct plug, sometimes when the crank bearings start to go bad it will do the same thing, be careful.

Idk swage, Depends on what your running them in, In the old indy the NGKS deff. make the Difference but, in my trike i did have a NGK in the 200s, then i bought a champion power sport. Like i run in my 200. i think both me and russell will agree. the power sport is one helluva plug:twisted:

yep, thats what you get for buying champion plugs. Half-ass quality that works halfass-edly for about 15 minutes then fouls.

Definetly a true statement, I usually run Ngks but ocasionally my parts store runs out and only had champions. The three times I put a champion plug in my 200s it will foul the plug with an hour tops of ride time, but I put my Ngks in there and I have no problems for quite a while, and as crappy as it is the champion plugs cost a freakin dollar more then the Ngks.

I'd had this champion almost a year and it was in the trike when i got it, so its been in there for while and yet has to faul on me, there not bad at all. Just not to top quality, but pretty good. (haters). Glad * fixed the problem "unclediezel".

Ive been a mechanic for almost 20 years---and I ve seen too many con-rod bearings go bad and trash plugs-(And more than a few valves) --but they all had one common point---THEY ALL KNOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a new one for me -and when my hands stop shaking- (For fear of engine damage) I'll put my new plug in and see what happens- I hunted all over town for an NGK BP6ES-Because thats whats in the owners manual -and If Yamaha says so--It must be true**********LOL----

If your 200s is fouling plugs that fast, it isnt the plugs, its your trike, My 200s never fouled a single plug, and my 200 never has either. unless your like tring to run like, used chainsaw plugs. lmao

I am assuming this was towards me, the thing is there is absolutly nothing wrong with my 200s, It runs great full of power and doesnt use any oil, but as soon as the crappy champion plugs touch it they are just shear junk, NGKs are the best :w00t:
Champions =:cry: :rolleyes:
