Anyone know anything about any of them? I know of CT racing offering one and ESR, any other good ones? Decent upgrade for an MX trike?

I'd go with a 310, I love mine, so much power, but also I have a pv, igntion, carb, reeds, pipe, crazy porting. Sometimes its abit hard to handle the power. If you have a long rod motor, I have a 330 for sale, needs a piston(still haven't been able to find it). I'd take $450 for it.

Well Derrick you better get used to using about 1/2 your throttle, a 310 on a stock swingarm is a real handful. Screamin wheelies. It takes a special guy to leave the stock length swingarm on an R with a 310. deathman53 I personally think you are crazy:lol:  . I would call it unrideable myself, I had my 310 on my 86-R before I turned it into a drag racer, & you can't use the motor. Mine is not a power valve jug though, maybe that could be the difference. If I was you Derrick I would get yourself a ported stock cylinder, then see if you still want a 310 for your mx ride. There ya go $450.00 sounds like a good deal for a 330, is that a pro-x jug?

I have a +1 swinger and it still tries to throw me off. that is a pro-x jug, you NEED a 87-89 crank to use it. yes, the bike is a handfull to ride, it was easier to ride with the esr pipe and 38 a/s, it makes alot more power with the paul turner pipe and 39 pwk.

So my PT and 39 pwk should work great! I'm still debating on going with a +2 swinger. Don't know if I like that idea on an MX bike or not.

once you ride it, you will get a +1 or +2 almost immediately.

Max brought up an interesting point yesterday. How's the reliability with the 310 kit? Rebuilds sooner? More stress on the crank and rod?
What's the difference between the 295 and 310?

they are just about as reliable, most 310 kits are really 295's, if it uses a 72mm piston its a 295. I know a guy with 150 hours on his esr 310 pv and got it bored, new piston and he was ready to go. Just make sure you stay far far away from hot-rod cranks. most 310 kits you only get 3-4 bores on them(if its not nickelsil). I'd get one that has a nickelsil liner, not a steel liner, the steel runs hotter and on 20 yr old radiators, well, any heat reduction is worth it.

Doesnt Duncan Racing put one out? I would use that CT one though.

they all use the same cylinders, they use pro-x cylinders and the ones that sell powervalves use a rotax or some other kind(don't know the name) lrd, duncan, and ct use the rotax style. they all make there own coolheads too. I'd buy a pro-x cylinder from pro-x, and they can sell you a head for it. then send it out to a good porter and get it ported, you will spend less and get more.
