My 85 250r overheated on me in wayne national back in august. the cause of it was the water inlet on the head(not the hose but where the hose connects) blew out off the head. i just tore down the top end. unbelievable that the bottom end seems good still. the motor still started up after overheat but i only did it once. the piston itself cannot be used again. i have to go a size bigger and to belive a piston that is out of spec could still have enough compression to run the motor, and still have enough compression for it to read good on compession test. i have been to scared to take apart the motor, but it isnt as bad as i thought it would be thankfully. it goes to show * that honda will run forever even after the piston is no good.
