Hey guys, I have an 84 Yamaha 200E Yamahauler. I just had the carb rebuilt by the shop and I put the bike back together and got it fired up for the first time in 5 years (sat it a garage). The thing runs awesome when it's cold, and runs great hot also, except for idle when it's hot. It will not idle, almost like it's getting too much gas and stall's out. Now I thought it was the choke that's messed up on it, so I replaced that the choke needle and sping because I thought it was stuck. It doesn't need to be choked when started cold on 20 degree mornings. but it didn't help. Now it's burning fuel, I've had to replace the spark plug once already because of it being sooted/carboned up already. Too much fuel??? Should I try rejetting leaner? Did they mess up the carb rebuild? Any help or suggestions appreciated.

yep sounds way to rich mine did the same thing with two large of a pilot jet. maybe they installed the wrong pilot jet or one just two big.

good deal, Thanks. I'll try that. How much smaller of a jet should I start at? How many sizes smaller?

that really depends on how rich it really is. I personally would look at your machines specs and the stock pilot jet and try that size. It sounds to me they put the wrong jet in on accident or something.
If you can track down an owners manual it should have it in there.
