I was told it is a 72 250 Kawasaki & it needs coil & battery. What type of 250 is this? I don't know much about Kawasaki so any info would be helpfull. They are asking $500, is it worth it? It says it has a slip disc rearend. What is that?
Thanks
Gabe
Got rid of the link figured out how to post pics. Thanks to all who let me know it didn't work.

Kawasaki KLT250. Year is i think 83. Ther rear diff there is a full independent one, your fuel tank is down at the back. Any other details you want to ask? im quite hot on the KLT's ;)

It is definatley a kawi. My buddy had one and it was an alright machine. Good torque out of it. If it has the rear differential deal there is a screw on it and you can adjust it from a open diff to a posi-trac diff. They are pretty cool. The coil is definatley going to be fun to find if you want a used one, new they are over a hundred bucks. My buddies was anyways. i say try to talk him down on the price, oh and I think that should have a kickstart er on it so you don't actually need a battery.

Thanks for the info. What do you think a descent price is on a klt250? Just about ever thing I have owned has been Honda.

parts are from 2 or 3 machines looks like Kawi 110 rear fender, 160 / 185 fuel tank up front -- 250 front suspension and rears, 250 seat Mostly 1983- 84 would be my guess other than the fuel tank up front is 85 / 86

That isnt the tank upfront, thats a little storage compartment that was on some models. I wouldnt pay more than $250 MAX for that, its not in good condition at all and the KLT's arent worth much anyway

Ya they don't seem to be worth to much. I checked out ebay for them. I offered them $125. I will see what happens. I was thinking the most I wuold pay is $200. It looks like it would be fun to have but I'm not going to pay to much for it. The independent rearend sounds nice. Do they have reverse?

nope no reverse on them, the independent rear end is quite fun, if you bring the rear wheel up in a tight turn it spins and you slow when it gets grip again it pulls a big wheelie:D

The poor thing is just sitting there rotting away. I don't think there too many of those left?
Is that spray bombed? I thought they were green or black?

Yeah, its an old 250 Prarie is what it looks like. I found one of those in a barn about a year ago I could get for somewhere around 200 bucks prolly. I just left it alone because I dont need another project and I know its not going anywhere (noone knows its there hardly) and its very safe in that barn. Would be neat to have though.

Well he didn't take $125. I will see if he will take $200. Does any one have parts for these machines? I will need some parts if I get it.

Its a KLT 200. Its not a 250. This model was an '83 and it has a tool box where the tank should be, electric start and manual clutch.

From my exsperience with a KLT200 all i can do is say good things about them. Great trikes over engineered and a very strong. Bullet proof engines that will hold up to abuse.
Here's what they look like from underneath
