View Full Version : Goodbye 225DX.. Hello US90 !!!

Well.... I finally had time and more money to pour in to the Yamacrapper... I had to rob a primary clutch from another spare motor, as the interna spring had broke.
Anyhow.... I picked up the US90 today. It's been sitting outdoors since I saw it... not as great of shape as I remember, but still worth the trade of the yellow banana!
I need to pick up a couple things.... like an airbox and exhaust... but it runs, moves and is functional. I don't want to drive it until I get a muffler and airbox on it.
My questions are....
1.) What other airbox would work? ATC110? ATC125? years?
2.) What other exhaust would work? ATC110? years?
3.) I've heard that people have put 6-wheeler tires on... what size? price? etc? If I can put some ARGO 6wheeler tires on it, I'll take off the original Ohtsu that hold air off and store.
What you guys think???

hmm, I've often wondered about those Argo ballon tires. I had them on my 6 wheeler years ago but they had the V shape treads. Not the Z shaped ones like you got. I had trouble finding replacment tires for it back then... but that was before all this internet stuff.
Either way it looks like you've got yourself one hell of a classic there. The blue ones are by far my favorite... I'm not to keen on the green.
Is that headlamp stock? Looks like it came off a miner's hat!

it looks alright, now trading a yamha for a honda is just plain crazy talk. If the air box off of a 78 atc 90 will work I have one with a brand new honda filter in it. Works good, has a little crack in it but it works.

Congrats on the 90! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun fixing her up.
With how much your on 3wheeler net links most likely you have these but I'll give them to you any way just in case you don't.

Looks good. They guy I bought my US90 from said Chevron makes tires that look the same and work and they are only $90 each. I've lost interest in mine. I have it on ebay along with 3 other parts bikes, going really cheap right now. Maybe someone will put a link to the auction in the ebay section. :naughty:
Oh yeah, did the 225DX run? I have 2 of them that I have been thinking of getting ride of the finance a 350X purchase. With a little work that 90 could be the nicest sky blue 3-wheeler on this site!
