I just bought it form my buddie/neighbor, ran back in the fall, had a rebuilt motor 2 years ago,new chain/sprockts/front wheel bearings, oil ign doesnt work so now it's pre-mix, needs rear tire, rear axle bearings and spokes, but it's in nice shape for $100, I was wondering if anyone has any info/ good websites on this bike(whats a good mix/ratio to run in it?) the snow is gonna be gone soon I wanna have this trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro up and running for spring. Thanks for any info/advice.

Thanks for the info guys!!
My first dirt bike was a '78 DT175. Got it in 87. I still have it, hasn't ran in a decade at least. I worked odd jobs and saved up and gave $175 for it! It's packed in the shed at my parents.
I believe that is right about the B8ES plug. It was a buddie of mines and when I bought it, it was pretty much stripped of all the street legal junk and had knobbies on it. I pulled my oil injector off and went premix. I always ran 32:1. i ended up machining a hole in the frame to move the shock back as far as I could and lift the rear end. The reason for this was because I hadn't had it long and was riding in a pasture and hit a black polypipe line and bent the skinny stock forks. Tried to keep riding it and when the forks bottomed completely, they wouldn't come back up unless you got off, laid the bike over and pulled the tire! Thankfully a friend of mine donated me a set of forks off a 79 YZ 250 frame. they were giant. With a couple mods, we slapped the whole YZ250 front end on the DT and the front end was way high, even with the forks running high in the triple clamps. So thats when we raised the rear end & evened things out. I used the yellow YZ fenders, I trimmed the stock YZ rear fender to fit over the curved back frame rail, which helped it look higher still. I covered the lower black painted part of the blue side covers with yellow number plate background and repainted the tank blue and the swingarm aluminum. It was a clean, neat, classic looking dirtbike. It was sure meaner looking than stock DTs! It didn't have allot of power but I had lots of fun trail riding and even rode a track or two on it, but it was no MX bike although the front end was pretty damn good. It was great beginner bike. anyway not long after that I went to a YZ125. I donated the YZ 250 front end to an 83 IT 175 in need and ended up gettin a 78 or 9 DT125 given to me, so I slapped the front end off it on the 175. Now years have passed and I come across it every now and again. I've thought recently about getting it running again.
Anyway I hope you like it, I sure did like mine back in the day. Sorry for the long post, but thanks for bringing the memories back! :-D

Thanks for the story jeb. Im geting it today, gonna change the gas/spark plug, and hopefully get it running! It's my first 2 cycle dirt bike, my other bikes are a 83 honda XL185S and an 81 XR250R, I remember riding with my buddie back in the summer when he had it(the DT) and I was riding my XL185, thay both seemed to have the same kinda power(the DT went a little faster up hills) but for $100 I Think I'l have plenty of fun!
