Need help on jetting fast!! Ride tomarrow!

I'm really in a bind now, my 350x just went to crap after playing around with the jetting for about 2 weeks now. It ran fine yesterday cept for it idleing kinda low. Now it wants to spit and pop really bad when I give it any gas and wants to die if I don't have the choke on. I already cleaned out the carb with some carb cleaner so i know nothing is clogging my jets. Any ideas?? I really would like to try and fix this before tomarrow so I don't have to back out of the ride! Thanks a lot. Later.

It may not be all carb jetting problems, whens the last time it had a compression check and valve clearances set? One leaky valve can do all that.

If its popping, sounds like you're running lean. Try messing with the air screw which is the one on the bottom of carb facing down. I beleive factory setting is 2 1/2 turns out.

if it wont run without choke then your running too lean if it jetting. A clogged jet will make it spit and sputter too but if your sure you cleaned it well then I think it is jetting.

What is your main jet right now?

Thx for the replies guys, I think I figured out my problem, like you said my jetting was lean. I had a 140 main, 40 pilot, and the needle clip one above the middle. Then i changed it to a 145 main, 42 pilot, and the needle clip one below the middle slot and it runs great. My mods are a supertrapp pipe, k&n filter w/ no airbox lid, web cam (thats camshaft not as in computer web cam lol), and a wiseco 10.5:1 piston. Now i'm all set to ride for tomarrow :w00t: .
