HELP!!! 85' 250 Big Red

I have finally got my motor in from usedatvparts.net, but it didn't come withe the magneto or flywheel. I have taken then off o fmy other motor but the two came apart but I did get it back together. Now my question is , when the fly wheel was on my old motor it would turn one way and lock down the other, understandable to start the motor. Now it just turns freely both ways. This isn't right is it?:crazy:

The one way bearings on the starter gear that mounts in the rotor must be bad.
Or they are stuck and or damaged, if they worked on the other engine.

Check to see if you replaced the sprag clutch, [one way clutch] on the right way. Don`t try to start it if the flywheel turns both ways or you will tear up your starter and starter gears, very expensive.

I have been told by a friend that I have to reload the flywheel to the magneto. He said that I have to spin he fly wheel real fast and that after that , the fly wheel will start to grab like it is supposed to.I am going to try it today and see if that works.
