Ok, I'm almost done tearing down my little 110 and it's coming along pretty good. I'm just looking for a few tips from some of you that have done this before. I'd like to know what can be sandblasted, what can only be cleaned in a parts washer, and what needs to be replaced. Here's my plan so far.
Sand blast :
1. Frame (paint)
2. Hubs
3. Foot pegs
4. few little metal brackets
5. Brake pedal
Clean in parts washer
1. Axle carrier
2. Axle
3. Sprocket (replace???)
4. Chain (replace???)
5. Carb (air pipe to engine paintable??)
Clean by hand and paint
1. Recoil
2. Sub tranny cover
3. Engine
4. Brake drum cover
Replace all together
1. Almost all bolts
2. Wheels
3. Brake cable
4. Brake lever
5. Brake adjusting rod
6. Axle bearings and seals
7. Carb kit
8. Plastic ($$$)
That's all I can think of for now, any ideas are appreciated, I'll be posting pics soon as I've documented just about every step with my digital camera
Is it ok to wash like my axle carrier, paint the exterior, make it look like new and then pack it with fresh grease? I've never taken things to a shop to be cleaned.
