I just started to sand another 200x frame to get it reday for painting and want this one to look like no other 200x I've seen. I just can't decide on the color scheme and would love to hear suggestions.

I second DeePa's idea, if you had it all pink it would be one of a kind and really show up. Or you could choose a dark green.

what about white frame, blue plastics, white seat cover and then all other "bits" blue or white according to where they are.
dark green would be pretty cool.

I was thinking Purple frame and black fenders. I'm not sure about everything else color wise but a purple framed 200x would look awesome I think.

On one of my old cracked helmets i sprayed the whole thing with i believe Duplicolor an its that "Chamelion" paint job, the different angles you look at it the different color it is. It first looks like a purple green then starts goin wacko * know. Best part bout it, came in spray cans! An it looks lovely.

 Dupont chrome illusion paint. They kind jeff gordon paints his car sometimes. You know the paint that changes color from gold to green to purple etc.
I don't think anyone has done that before.
It would be quite expensive and a waste as I don't think it would last long at all.
Ever see that guy that put fur on his fenders :naughty: There was a quad on ebay a while back with what looked like it was completely covered with a shag rug! :w00t: that would be diffrent as well
Personally I like a good black grey and white color scheme.

Yeah I was just looking at something similar in wal mart tonight but can't remember what company made the paint. Those 250r's look awesome too. I'm going to sleep on it for the night and decide tomorrow and I'll try to get some :pics: posted after I'm done. I just pressured washed the frame and it's about ready to be painted. I painted the motor a few days ago and now its ready for the newer bolts since I left the old ones in while painting. I swear by the duplicolor high heat spray paint for motors since it holds the best I've seen so far and this time I went with flat black instead of the high gloss. I did find a broken cooling fin on the cylinder but it looks near simetrical since the cut out for the clutch cable mount is on the opposing side. Keep the ideas coming guys.

i think black fenders, white tank, white frame and white seat cover with black lettering, black headlight box, and either white or black handlebars would look sweet.

That is friggin awesome looking. Man I can't decide yet since they is so many different ways I could paint it. I just ground the weld spots on the frame to make it look cleaner and the broken mounts for the skid on the swingarm. I'm going out now to see what I can find for cool looking paints and should be able to lay down one or two good coats tonight to see where I'm at. Pics will be posted for sure. Thanks for the ideas. :w00t:

Well I did one frame fire red and I have some awesome purple paint for another frame that is also ready to be painted. I don't want to build up the red frame but might have to since I found a bad weld on the other frame. I was looking to have another 200x near complete as possible since I haven't been working much(damn rain). I like the red color but want something totally different than near oem since I have 2 already. The picture isn't the greatest since the paint fog is still present. It's time to stop painting for me since I'm feeling a little high :naughty:

Well, Honda isn't my favorite brand, but I do have an 85 200X at home that is awaiting a resto. It will have a silver frame, swingarm, and wheels, and a red gas tank, plastic, and seat cover. The engine will be left unpainted after I bead blast it, and the front fender and headlight will be 85 250R pieces. There will also be a few tasteful touches of polished aluminum and chrome.

Hey Chris
Someone on here has a 350X somehwat like that but it is all grey and black with the frame being more of a grey I think then the silver on this one.
Problem is, I can't find it. :(
Here are two that are some of my favorites also.

This is what I was planning. White frame, swinger, tank, super scoops with light blue fenders and tank stickers (the '87 X ones).
