What does the red wire on a 250SX key switch do, because im looking to hook it up to a project bike i have and it has no red wires in the electrical whatsoever but all the other wire would hookup, will this work w/o this wire? I cant start p the motor to see if it will work at this time and was wondering,
Thanks

From what I am seeing ,,, onthe 85 sx wiring diagram. The red and the black connected together will complete the "on" circut for it to be able to eletric start or kick start.
The other 2 (green and white with black stripe together will shut the trike off.
The red wire runs to rectifier and also to the battery hot side ( with a fuse in it near the battery. )
