I am looking for a 38-39mm carb and a member on here has a 38mm carb with a power jet for sale. Well i am not to familiar with carbs and i am not to sure what a power jet is for or what it does. Will this make it easier to tune or harder?
Does a power jet help performance of the carb? and also what are some good things and down sides to them thanks for the help guys

A power jet is a add on knozzle that screws into the bell on the back of the carb. It is usually hooked into the float bowl, were it draws fuel from. Most power jets are adjustable. The purpose of the power jet is to let the engine draw fuel as the airflow increases / or the throttle is opened wide. Some people use them for different reasons snowmobile guys use them sometimes when they ride in the high mountains, you can richen your fuel mixture by opening the power jet up (more fuel when the throttle is wide open). Others use them so they can run a lean main jet for great throttle response, and great mid range pull, Knowing they have the power jet to give the extra fuel needed at wide open throttle (so not to melt your piston with the small main jet). :w00t:
By a Dial A Jet... it does the same thing, but with more tunning range.
