Last time you got a great price on your trike, it turned out to be stolen, didnt it? Did you ever get that cleared up or are you still riding it? If its a Tecate for $200, Id be calling in the serial number to your local Sheriff and doing some homework. Sounds way too good to be anything short of highly suspicious.

wasnt the tecate only electric start?

They are kick only, kinda like the green version of the 250R.

He's your friend, but you don't know what he has? Lol...
Are you sure your going to be able to keep it running?
I don't know personally, but i'd think a 200x would be simple compared to a liquid cooled engine.

there must be something wrong with it.

I'd rather work on or take apart a liquid cooled twostroke motor then a aircooled fourstroke any day. If it runs then great, if not then you only have a few things to check to get it running.

ok tim...wrong friend..no i never got that cleared because it really never got riddin...it broke all the time so i parted it out..i dont even know who it was stolen from but im pretty sure that we ended the discussion about that along long time ago..anyway...he said he cant get it started..he siad he got it for 200 and didnt do anything with it...just cause he selling it low doesnt mean its stolen..he cant ride anymore anyay...he fell off a house doing construction work and broke his back...hes lucky he can even stand and walk...now the keeping it running jokes are getting old guys...come on...just cause the 185 was a pos and never stayed running and the 200x is acting up all the time doesnt mean anything...it may be good for me to change from 4 to 2 stroke..o yea and ive never seen it so i dont know that its a tecate but im pretty sure it is..i dont know where he lives because i never have went to his house

I had a guy hounding me because he said my 200x was stolen. He saw it in the back of my pickup one day. He wanted me to give him the vin numbers from it so he could check it out. I told him, no way. I said you bring me your vin numbers first. A couple of days later the police came to visit me. They checked out the numbers and said I was fine. Besides that I already had the title.

Green and black? It could be a tecate. The engine, frame, and radiator are blac so it may be. The tell tale sign would be call him and ask if it is liquid cooled and if it is a 2 stroke. I think the tecate was the only liquid cooled 2 stroke they made, however I may be wrong. They can be a pain in the but to fix as the major parts that go out are about 200-250 bucks depending on where you get them. Umm, If you don't get it and it is actually a tecate of any year, running or not, giant POS or not hit me up and I will be there with cash. But trust me that baby is no 200x. It is actually a performance machine. Not some junk HONDA.

No. They made 250R's liquid cooled. I'm not quite sure what years though, but I want to say 85 and on.

just because it`s a kawi and it`s a 250 doesn`t mean it`s a tecate....they also had the klt250....friend of mine had one way back in the day......talk about a big hunk a junk....it had a differential rear on it that you could lock if you wanted...his diff was always breaking on him

If its a kick its a 2 stroke, kawi did a rope / electric on the klt 200 straight electric on the klt 250 no kickers except on 'cates, 200 bucks might buy my spare back fenders but not my bike.

The klt 200 had a kick start also as a backup. I am not sure about the klt 250

1400 posts ? No running Trikes ? Selling stolen property ? Wow, what an asset to the Triking Community.

250 prairie -- hard tail, NO KICK START never, unless its aftermarket or a home done add on, NO REVERSE -- was NEVER an option, probably has a diff lock(84-85), 5 speed, manual clutch mounted on 25x12x9 rear; 22x11x8 front electric start only, fuel tank in the rear, if it runs; great, if it doesn't check the CDI its a 400 dollar touch for the right one, 40 bucks for a KL 200 dirt bike unit (used) modified to fit. They run great when they are running a real nice simple, strong 4 stroke. 200 bucks is a good price for one that runs. I have them, fix them, and spend a bunch of time installing CDI's in them

They make excellent hill climbers. I've been looking for that model for awhile now, but all I ever find are the later model black or red ones.Wish you were closer.

what the hell rex?? whats up with that..just cause my trikes dont run cause i dont have the money to fix them doesnt mean anything..and yea 1400 posts since august of 04 isnt bad...most of those are questions about trikes and how to fix them..and selling stolen property?? that trike was stolen over 5 years ago and has went through quite a few people that have owned it over a year each give or take...i dont want to hear it any more about that...as i said earlier..we ended the discussion about that 185s last year...what is up with you people...anyway...after i got to looking at it i noticed it wasnt kickstart at all, and no it didnt have reverse, it was electric start, big tires in back and a smaller one in front..
