I picked up these Turf Savers for Flat Track and was thinking how they might work if grooved.

I really didn't notice any lack of traction, but was curious if I had any more power, mayber they might spin coming out into the straights. Seems like someone else thought they were spinning on their trike.

The theory is that straight grooves will allow more front traction but not allow side bite.

What do you think?

not sure about that particular tread design but on the old H-Track tires they would groove the tire strait across the middle ( like in your third pic) but just before the corner (about 2 to 2.5in) of the tread they would make a cut forward on one side and backwards on the other at a 45 degree angle. Not sure of the advantages of this but it was real popular at the race tracks in the 80's.

I think it would help alot Derrick. That third picture looks the best. Getting more power huh. I wish I could get down there on the 8th/9th, but me & the boys are going up north in michigan to do some trail riding.
