Hey all, i'm new to this site & have an 86 250R thats been in storage for about 10 years... for a while it was at a friends place, it needed to be punched (top end was gone) so he decided to rip it down for me... no big deal cept he has moved several times and over time i ended up a cylinder, head, carb & airbox tube short of rebuilding it.
the cylinder & head are on their way (via ebay) = 250R cyl & head and a 310 cyl & head, both need to be sleeved... got a smokin deal on em (70 bucks shipped)
any1 happen to have a good PJ 34mm oval bore carb layin around? ;) or perhaps an airbox tube to the carb?
I'll post some pics of it when i get it done... thankx & this place kinda rox

If its that far down, id go through the crankshaft and replace the bearings, not that expensive.
A new PJ 34 oval slide was 120 clams from Pro Flo:

After the grief I dealt with dinking with a used carb, Ill buy a new one next time!!
I have a series of engine teardown pictures on my website if you want a look at the engines guts.

good plan TG6, i went ahead & brought it to a shop to have the lower end rebuilt... i've done em before in the past but just dont have the time right now.
any idea where i could pick up an entire lower end bearing set? if there even is such thing? the guy at the shop told me to look around & see if i could find a better deal than him & he said he'd get back to me next week after dis-assembly & let me know what i'm up against.
one other Q, since the lower end is going to be rebuilt... is there anything i should do while its open? i plan on adding some type of big bore kit to it eventually so should i put an aftermarket rod / crank in it now? i'm for the most part blind on this whole subject, any imput would be appreciated. & where does everyone get 250R parts these days?

yep i did, i'll take it... are the clamps included?
whats the pay options? going to 55371
On your crank bearings go with the 8 ball type used in 98-01 cr 500 instead of the 7 ball type used stock. Service Honda part # 91003-KA4-771.

I would suggest you change the counter balancer shaft bearings while you are in there. It's not a pretty site when they come apart. I have seen the results up close, it ruined both cases, the crank , clutch basket, & the gear on the crank that turns the clutch & of course it trashed the balancer shaft.
