A few weeks back, I noticed that the YT was puffing a little smoke from between the cylinder and the head. I tore it down and checked the head gasket, and all looked great. When I was putting it back together, I couldn't even get close to the proper torque for the head nuts. Turns out, the studs were pulling out of the cylinder because someone had heli-coiled them in the past.
So, there I was, getting ready to send my spare cylinder off to get bored, whe I thought, "Hey, I should check it just to make sure."
Guess what? Same thing. No heli-coils, but the studs started to pull out at around 7 ft-lbs.
The question is, are the YTs known for this? Should I be wary when purchasing another cylinder? Or did I just have two flukes?
