:w00t: I picked up a 85 200s with and 6" extended rear end and my friend picked up a couple of 84 200s's. It seems that my nuetral is all the way down and I shift up thru the gears and his is to total opposite. Why would honda switch the way they shift when everything else is identical. Or is there a way to switch it around. Thanks for the help.

I have had several Honda motorcycles and my 200x. My Honda mini-trail 50 was three down. My SL70 was one down three up. My 200x is also one down three up. I wonder if it made a difference if it had a hand clutch or automatic clutch?

Are you sure your engine is original? I'm not positive on this, but I think the 84 & 85 200S' are the same. Neutral should be at the top with all 5 gears down.
If I remember right, the 200M's were different between those 2 years. 1 was all gears down & 1 was all gears up.
Maybe you have a 200M engine? Does it have factory electric start? The 200S didn't have electric start.
