Should I use 32:1 ratio or 20:1 using klotz synthetic in a 85 tri z?

Synthetics should never be run any richer than 32:1, and in most cases, work quite well at 50:1

It should run good and cool at 50:1, I run everything on powerplus @ 50:1 cept my blaster (air-cooled 28:1 so it runs cooler) Never had a meltdown KNOCK ON WOOD!! :?

I ride my CR250 at 32:1 with Klotz and never have any fouling problems. And believe me, my CR loves to foul plugs, probably a lot worse then your Tri Z. IMO 50:1 is just too light. Why wear your motor anymore then you have too.

In my kx250 I would run 28:1 and jet up a size to get the maximum power out of it with the rich gas, it was the only bike I had that I was in fear of causing excess wear, on a RELIABLE machine 50:1 is plenty of lube when using synthetic, I weigh 280lbs and never have to re-ring my bikes on a yearly basis, Ive found that any bike will run crisper and throttle response will be much better running leaner fuel mix, if it will tear trailprotrailpro bike bike up is a gamble unless you've been dealing with that kind of motor for a while---good luck
