Hi all,

I bought some Bel-Ray Oil for my 1983 250R. It is the H1R stuff..the "Synthetic 2 stroke racing oil". I was wondering:

Can I use this on my air fooleR??  (I shoulda thought of that before I bought it!!) I ask because it says its a "power valve formula" IDK 100% for sure what that means, and I dont know if my 83 has that or not.

Also, if you run this, what do you pre mix @?? I am thinking about 40:1..if thats a bit rich Ill go 50:1.

Thanks in advance

i dont think it will bother anything. its great oil and at 40:1 it should be good.
i use this oil in a liq cooled bike but i dont see why an air fooler should be diff.
go for it...............

Thats what I was thinking. I read the label(s) and it DOES NOT mention or specify for water cooled or air cooled machines. Any body else have any ideas??

Oh yeah...I cant seem to get this right no matter what I think of:

If I mix @ 40:1...how many ounces total do I need to dump in with 2 gallons of gas?

What kind of gas should I burn also...in a two stroke with a bit of motor work and reeds and exhaust system can I get by with just regular or should I try going up a grade??

I use no smoke 2 stroke from tractor supply in my air cooler.

I ran H1R at 50:1. Its good oil suitable for any 2 stroke.

128oz in a gallon. 40:1 is 40oz of fuel to 1oz of oil. So in one gallon you divide 128 by 40 and get 3.2. Double that for 2 gallons. So you need 6.4oz of oil.
