A little Update and a question:
OK, so my girlfriend just picked up a 1984 200X. We are working as a team on this project, as her intrests are peaking about 3 wheelers. We have stripped it down to the frame, and are re-doing the whole trike. It will actually be an Auto-X. She has picked her color scheme. Black Maiers on a pink frame. Should be pretty cool. The fenders are on their way and the frame is being painted as we speak. Lots more sandblasting to do - but I give it another week till it's a restored roller, and another 2 or 3 until it is done. I'll post some pics soon.
Now the question - It's pretty cool that she is a 1984 model, and so is her three wheeler. What are my options for three wheelers made in 1975. Just the US90, or were there others? I'd love to have a trike who shares my birthday year.

Actually the US90's were only made from 1970-1973. In 1974 they called them ATC90's. I think there was a few off the wall trikes made in 1975 ( possibilities are Mud Bug?, Scat Tracker, ect ), if your wanting to stick with Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, or Suzuki then you are limited to a ATC90.
BTW, they didn't make 3 wheelers when I was born, so I have decided to own as many as the year I was born ( over 60 and under 69 ). ;) lmao

Nope, I'm not really into anything but Honda's. The mudbug isn't the "proverbial" 3 wheeler to which I am accustumed to.
I'll post some pics up as soon as I can.
Hey ATC-Horse: are any pictures developed yet?

what are you going to do with the old 200s chasis?

Just been brain storming some with the atc200 frame. I am seriously considering putting the X motor in the 200 non-suspended frame - and converting it into an ice racer. Would be fast and low!!! I know there are lots of Auto-X's out there, but has anyone ever done the reverse - I've never seen or read about one - would be a first, maybe? I'm not sure if the atc200 frame is bent or not. It acts like it is, but could be the plastic giving me an optical illusion. Are you possibly interested in the frame Brapp????? I'll try to call you tonight - I never got to it last night.
Dammit!

Yes, your math is correct - Am I robbing the craddle??? :D
If you are, I definitely am. I was born in 1973, my trike is a 1986 and my girl is a 1987! But hey, at least she's legal! :naughty:

UPDATE 9/21:
Some pics of the restore. Keep in mind, this trike is owned by member ATC-Horse - I personally wouldn't probably make it this color because of my gender, but it sure the heck is cool. I noticed I need to switch rear tires as they are on backwards, but it is back on it's wheels.
Enjoy:

Just curious what type of paint you used for the forks? I was thinking about painting my forks but I thought any paint would chip too easily.
atctim
09-21-2005, 09:06 PM
All I use for paint is Krylon (the type with the 12 minute dry time). First I throughly cleaned the forks, then I primed them (also with krylon) then 3 thin coats of Krylon "Ballet Slipper". Let paint cure for a week or two before riding or washing. I did this on my Big Red-X 2 years ago, and they are holding up awesome and look as good as the day I painted them (When it is clean that is).
