the number on the cdi unit on my 200m trike is cf433 4.5 / the one on e-bay is cf433 4.2 any one know if this will work, if so I'll grab it and maybe I can start riding soon I hope :)

The "4.2" and "4.5" might be revision numbers. If the price was cheap enough, id try it. Other thing to do is try a dealer (yukkh) and see if the part numbers over a couple years have the same prefix (CF433)

yuk is right my friend dealer says about $150 for a new cdi. the one on e-bay about $10 now that I can deal. as far as part #s go dealer has something totaly different. so i'll check out the e-bay route.

the prongs on that one are faceing the wrong way thanks though. there is a picture of the one on e-bay it looks identical so it might be a winner we'll see soon if I win it!

It should work if it plugs in, just have to try. If it were different but by the same manufacturer, then they would make the plugs different so it cant be substituted.

Honda did have some CDIs with the same plug, that do not interchange. My parts 350X came with a CDI that when installed on my running trike would work, but it ran like crap. The sticker on the side of the plug reads KL3, which is for a 84 or 85 XL350R. My assumption is that this CDI would work on a XL350R. The 350X CDI sticker reads HA5, which is the 350X code.
