get a mojave front wheel. same offset and you wont have to run the stupid big fat front tire. you can get a taller, thinner tire

DJ..dont the mojave rims have an offset? That wouldnt pan out! lol

You can also use an 86 T3 rim.....it's a lot skinnier and is the same bolt pattern i believe...

Thanks guys,
I don't have a problem with the wide front rim. Infact, I think it kinda makes the bike. I just want to find a polished one.

the mojaves do have an offset cart. i dunno if all years are the same but the mojave front wheel that i used had the same offset as the tecate and it worked great. no more big fat stupid tire on the front

You cannot use the 86 Tecate front rim. they have a larger bolt pattern.

You can probably use the Mojave rear rim on the front of the 85 Tecate, I believe even in recent years they are still the same as the 85-87 3wheeler rear rims and Tecate4. If a mojave front will work, that would be cool and I would definitely make that switch in a heartbeat.

Wizzard, I believe if you get in touch with Douglas, they make a polished stock replacement rim for the 85 Tecate. On the 84 and 85 Tecate, the 3 rims are the same, but of course the rims are different between the two years, the 84 has a much smaller bolt pattern than the 85 and the wheels are steel and heavy as anchors. The 3 rims are the same and share the same part number but believe it or not, the stock front tire though is minutely different, I believe its a KT461 and the back is 460???
