I don't think the axle does move. I remember you posting this ? before & at first I posted that it did move but after checking closer, neither of my YTs move. Are you sure that "thing" pushes on the carrier? I think it is just to tighten or loosen your chain.

It must move, cause when you tighten the bolt, it pushes directly on the carrier, and where the bolts go, for the carrier , its a slot about 1 inch long. And the bolts are all the way at the back of the slot.

Search for your thread on this from a week ago & look at reply #5. Does your YT tensioner look like the one in the first 2 pics or the last 2 ?

Hmmm. Your's must be different than mine. If the bolts are at the back of the slots isn't the axle as far back as it can go? Maybe your chain is stretched too much & its time for a new one.

I'm lost here now. Which piece is slotted, the carrier or the frame?
Post some pics if you can & I'll try to help you out.
You say the carrier won't budge so it has to be one of 3 things.
#1 Are you sure all of the carrier bolts are loose? Didn't miss one by any chance?
#2 It is siezed in place.
#3 The tensioner is causing it to bind.
