Well I accomplished my project today, it was slow but an overall easy swap. I got the forks and triples from Blazerone22. I have a comparison of the stock forks in the below photos.

Not yet, thats all Im waitin on. Should be a different animal, once it gets back together.

To tell you the truth, I have no clue. Im shure Blazer will chime in and answer that one. I think the red goes good with the overall color scheme might I add.

I don't anything about tri-Z's other then they sure look nice ,,, why the swap to the 86 modle year ,,,, better ???

it looks like the '86 front end is longer so it might give more travel? is that correct?

Yes it is, the 86 forks have like an inch more travel and are bigger in diameter.

85 and 85.5 Tri-Z's have 35mm forks and the 86 Z's had 39mm. The 39mm's are the same size as the 85-86 250R's. Basicaly they have less flex and better handling John.
