Tomorrow i'm going to pick up my first ever 3-wheeler. I've previously owned a Honda trx125 1987, which i thought was just wonderful, i learned a whole lot from it. I am very excited about getting this thing, and i just wanted to know what i should expect. In comparison to a 125cc atv, is this louder, or noticably more powerful since its a 200? NO IDEA, would love some help. Thank you.

:welcome: Can you tell us what is the make and model and year of your first trike. There should be plenty more power than a 125 if it is a 200. Always remember :TrikesOwn

The picture which i attached is what i had before. Worked on it for 6 months to make it look like that. It was a 1987 Honda TRX125 4-wheeler but with the -almost- same engine base as the 1985 Honda ATC 200s which i just got. Here is a link to that.

I'm asking, if this was yours, what would you do first. From what i learned from the other one, i will need to clean the carb to perfection, check all the lines- and i'm not sure what else. I dont even know what kind of oil it needs. last i used hd-30, would that work?

If you've never ridden one, which I'm assuming you haven't from your post, the first thing you should get used to is weight distribution using your body, and how not to react on a trike compared to a 4 wheeler... You have to be a bit more active and alert on a trike due to it only having a single front wheel, especially when turning at high rates of speed. This is not to scare you, but just to put that idea in your head. Get used to turning them at low speeds first, and see how they react. Other than that, have a lot of fun! Regarding the actual trike condition, check the brake pads/shoes, maybe change the mechanical lines as you mentioned, so that everything works smoothly as they would when new, and rebuild the carb if needed. You'd be surprised how that and a new spark plug can help, along with gapping the ignition correctly. Hopefully you will find all the help you need on the boards here!! WELCOME! James
