Hi folks-
I've just joined this board and look forward to stopping by often. I'm 33 and just purchased a 350x last week and I'm looking forward to making it faster/stronger. I grew up w/ three-wheelers when I was younger and have quite a bit of riding and mechanical experience with them, albeit a bit rusty with it all.

I'm a mechanical engineer by education, an experienced machinist and own my own automotive racing engine business. If any of you have any desires to have something machined or drawn up with our in-house CAD/CAM software, let me know and I'll see if I can help. :) There really isn't too much we can't do here....

I've been looking over this thing since I've got it and I've gotta say~ there looks like a few things could be improved by making them of billet materials, better engineering, etc.

Do any of you more experienced riders, enthusiests or gear heads have any recommendations where to start and what is the weakest link in stock trim from your experiences? I've been told/shown from another board that the frame typically cracks near the small down-tube adjacent to the swing-arm pivot. Is this correct?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you more experienced guru's on this thing and I plan to *really* step into this project to make this machine perform. Working on this bike is a nice, welcome, different change of pace from my everyday business, so I find it very relaxing and fun!

Thanx in advance. :)

Someone in particular your referring too?

:welcome: to the boards. i've read that the 350x's are prone to cracking frames. But that's probably their only weak point. other than that they're pretty much bullet proof.

Yes, custom billet parts would be great! I'm sure alot of people would be intrested in that. what exactly did you have in mind?

oh, if ya could please post up some pics of your ride. ;)

Most people I have talked to First re-did the top end with the PowerRoll mid range camshaft. Then the Wiseco 10:1:25 piston with 93 octain gas or the 12:1 piston with race gas. Lots of mods for your trike.

By the way, :welcome: . It is nice to have people on this board that know what they're doing :naughty: . Pics?

I haven't really given it much thought yet, as I haven't had time to set down around here for some time to myself to look at it close, other than today. I'll look at a few things this weekend and run the ideas by you folks to get your thoughts. :)

I'll run out to the shop and snap a photo so I can post it here. Thanks for the response. :)

The only week spots on the 350x are the frame right above the left footpeg, onthe left side by the grabbar (the tube that goes down)and thats about it. If you want to get more power, get a k&n, pipe and high compression piston. Youll be set for quite a while like that. If you need any help making it faster just pm me, i gota a built x and it hauls @$$.

i have told myself if i ever get a 350X that i would do this...
393CC Piston Kit (11:1 compression)
Powroll Race Cam
Quicksilver 40.5mm carb
K/N air filter (no air box)
DG Stage 3 Xcellerator..
VP 110 race fuel.....
NOW THAT WOULD BE A RIDE
Now with that piston you dont need to use 110 you can use 91+
and that X would flat out MOVE!!! i think that thing would easily move with a raptor or even beat one.... iam thinkin a easy 36 horses with all that good stuff... but you defently will need to have a extended swing arm, they become diesel engiens that will rip up anything... and climb a tree while they are at it.

Thanks for the frame info guys. I'll look at that area a little closer during the tear-down to see if there is anything that can be done to strengthen it.

Here's a photo of the machine for those who requested it. I hope it comes through... I'm not too good at posting photos just yet.

BTW- In looking at this forum, you guys have it laid out here pretty nice, with all the tech information and all. My hats off to the mods and admins for a job well done. :w00t: I think I'm going to like it here. :Bounce
