tri z engine question

I have a triz and the intake rubber is cracked. I purchased one from a fellow member and the new one has a big port coming out the top of it. The one on the bike doesn't. Can i still use this intake?

The OEM tri-z intake has the port coming off the top. Sounds like you're missing the boost port set-up. Do you have number 11 and 13 in the diagram?

The one with the hose port on top is the correct one. The boost bottle setup enhances low end performance, basically doing what a reed spacer does.

You can just plug it, and it will run just fine, or you can find a good used boost canister on ebay...

Mine's boost bottle is non-existant and the port on the top is plugged. Been that way since I got it a few years back and runs just fine. :beer
