Got a 85 350X

I picked this 85 350X tuesday in a trade for a 89 honda 300 2WD that i had , it had just had the motor rebuild with a wiseco 12.1 piston . it has maier plastic ,and a IMS tank.

first off it is a 350x !!!!!!!!!!! great bike best all around bike i think. i have one and will sell all the other bikes before i part with my 350x. never had a problem yet. you have a great bike there enjoy later mike

Looks like a real trail stomper with those tires! :beer Ever try running a mix of 93 and 100 octane gas? With the 12:1 piston, you could probably pick up some nice HP gains with a lil race gas.

Not always, I really dont see the need for anything more than just 93. Looks good, i might opt for a differnt tire on the front and turn those realtors around so they will quit giving you so much "push" unless your riding in the sand alot. I bet that things a biatch to kick over with a 12:1 installed. I would love to feel the performace advantage over a stock compression but due to a knee injury i will never be able to kick over anything more than stock (and i can barley do that, more than 2-3 kicks and I aint riding). Sux to be me :cry:

Sorry to hear about that, Lomax. Last year, I was unable to, er, sit down, if You acquires my driff... When that finally passed I was kissing the ground, loving life again. I am grateful for my health.

As to the 12:1 compression and gas, If it is a true 12:1, you run the risk of buring it up on low octane gas. I personally wouldn't run anything less than a 1/3 race to 2/3 Premium mix. NOS350X (Nick) has 12:1 on his 350, ask Him. Sucks kicking it over, I love my 2-stroke for that. I can kick it over wearing Vans Slip-ons ! LOL LOL :naughty:

Well if the compression release works correctly its not bad. I wont run anythin under 100 octane in it. They say to never run under 110. If you jet your bike acordingly to the compression you will see a MAJOR power gain. On my x i went fron a 148main to a 170.

Right now its runing on AV gas , it dosn't run good on pumped gas because along with the 12:1 the head is planed and it is a pain in the foot to kick over cause the compression release isn't work (no cable) . All the tires that are on it suck , if i keep it i'll change to somthing else but i don't think i'm going to keep it cause every time i drive it i dislike it more and more.
