Well...

We all have tires.. and we constantly see threads about " What should i get for xxx xxx xxx "

on my SX :

Back tires are " Bear Claws " 22 x 12 x 8 " .. 6 ply. Tough, heavy and stiff. great in mud, awful in sand, on the SX the 12" will rub the stock pipe just a little bit.. having 22 x 11 x 8 would fit just fine.

Front tire : Kenda " Front-Max " .. 22 x 11 x 8 .. awsome trike front tire.. turns great. does NOT rub the SX front forks as many baloon tires do.. and floats real well.. I had a Mud-Devil on it when i got it.. almost ruined the forks from rubbing.. and would not turn worth a crap.

On my 200 ES :

I had Carlisle Turfbusters on the rear.. nice smooth.. bump absorbing rubber. but awful in mud.. the thread would fill up and not clear. they floated great however and proved pretty tough.. 2 ply.

If we all reply here and post our details... it would make life easier when tire shipping.

I have a set of old school titan fast trekkers on my 200X and they do everything that I want them to. I have them turned around backwards so the lug in the middle hooks the sand, dirt, mud, or whatever I go through. 20x11x8, awesome trail tire, slides great and hooks up when you slide back on the seat.

for my 83R and my 85 Tecate I plan on putting the new fast trekkers on them with the same size as above.

Well.. I can't post as many pics/be as much help as brapp.. but my SX is in my sig.

Cheng Shin tires on the rear.. I don't know the exact name.. but they're A.K.A. Wooley Boogers/Buggers. Very good tire IMO.
And on the front I have a Kenda Front Max.. awesome tire for the front.. you don't loose turning traction with this thing unless there is another rider sitting behind you.

I have I have carlisle trail pros on my one SX with a turf tamer front tire and on my other SX I have wolley boggers in rear with a bald knobbie tire in front :D . The wollyboggers are awesome in mud and the trail pros SUCK!!! in anything wet (but are awesome for powersliding). The 200ES I have knobbies all around, dont know what the hell they are but they are knobbies.

Hey 250sxwheeliepop.. how do those wolley boggers do in the snow? I got my SX right after all the snow melted, so I didn't have a chance to test 'er out in the show. Does it go through it easily? Does it just bog down and go slowley through snow??

Hey nouse, I guess your cheng shins are 22x11x8 right? Just wondering 'cause I'm looking for the same tires in a 23x11x10 for my....umm.....uhhh.....ok, it's a quad. Can't find that size listed for them, but I haven't been able to find a complete catalogue for cheng shin.

I'm not quite sure.. I'll go out in the morning and look for you. For some odd reason, I was thinking they were 22x11x9's.. but idk.. I'll look and post in the morning.

yep awesome in snow and mud. We run them on my SX, quadsport, the trail blazer, and little 160 quadrunner and they do awesome on all those machines. They are better on the SX though because the wheels have more weight on them.

What kind of snow are you talking about? I'm talking about 1-2 feet of snow like we had last year and I had to run my dads Big Red in. God that thing sucked with knobbies.

Goodyear Turf tamer 18 x 9.5 x 8 (aka "lawnmower specials") Good for power sliding and moderate traction on hare scrambles. The trick was to dump the rear tire pressures from 10 down to 4 then hit the mud. Havent found much they wont go through.
Front - factory stock tire.

thats what i'm talkin about. Ranging from 18" powder to 18" snow with 1" of ice on top. Also put it in 2nd gear and you'll have a hard time getting stuck in anything.

Nankang Knobbies are awesome for mud. Went through our mud bog with 1' -18" of mud with them.

Nice. The Wolley Boggers are great for mud too. I've never got stuck in any mud with these things, and its been to the middle of the tire at some points.

I have 22-11-8 mudlites on my 185 and aside from the harsh ride, the are awesome.
And the 200 has 25-12-9 knobbies that do great in dirt and sand but not real good in mud. Currently researching better tire options. (will probably get mudlites for it too).

oh yeah whats the difference between the cheng shin mud buster and the GBC mud busters? the first one is the cheng and the second is the gbc

Looks like the GBC has more of a profile, and other than that.. they're pretty much the same.

are mudbusters any good in the snow?

08-26-2005, 11:07 PM
Hey Sox.. see that thing that is hanging on your handle bars to the left of your Reverse light?? That cover goes over those two bolts beside the Reverse light. I'd post a pic, but supload is being tempermental.

And just check the convo between me and 250sxwheeliepop earlier in this thread. Mud Busters are pretty much wolley boggers.

08-26-2005, 11:09 PM
The mud busters work fine in the snow as long as you keep the tires moving. My sister hauls her friends around in snow on their sleds with her golf cart and has no probs.

i kno it does, it wont stay on same with nuetral light wont stay in its socket. reverse light doesnt work gota fix it.
great cuz i wanna pull a wagon full of water buckets. hose freezes during winter so i have no other way to get the horses water but carrying water buckets. this winter i can pull um woohoo!

Hmm. Weird. Just make sure you don't loose it. When I got my SX, I was missing the one on the right, and I had a hell of a time finding it.

Good idea. The only thing I'm going to use my SX for this winter is pulling deer out of the woods, and having a HELL of a time in the snow. Ohh trikes are oh so fun in snow.
