Ok here's the deal. I have 5 wires to work with, only 3 plug into the back of the headlight (right?). I have two white wires. One tan, one blue, and one green. Now of those 5 which 3 go to the heaadlight? Also does it matter which ones go to any of the three prongs on the headlight? I looked at the wiring diagram but can't figure out what colors DG, W and L stand for. Also will the headlight work if I don't have the on/off switch plugged in?<<< shopping for one...
Please help! :beer

I'd reckon those "extra" 2 wires are for Hondaline accessories..... :naughty:

Just match up the colors and you're set!

Match up the colors... whatevers left over are the extra ones... should be a tan one and a white one if my memory is correct.

On the 86 - 89 diagrams, there is a White from the switch that goes to headlight low beam, and a White / Yellow from the voltage regulator to the switch. Green is headlight ground and Blue is high beam. No idea what an extra wire is for.
