Hi I have a honda 1985 250sx and i am looking for parts to get more power out of it like engine mods and stuff what kinda stuff can you get and where do you get it (websites and stuff) thanks!!

you can get yourself an aftermarket exhuast. I think the only one made for the sx is the supertrapp. I'm not even sure if they make um anymore but keep your eyes peeled on ebay. They show up once in a while.

also you can get a uni air filter for it too. your pretty limited on performance parts for an sx since it's pretty much a utility trike.

get yourself some good mud tires and go play in the mud. that's what they're intended for. ;)

They used to make SuperTrapps for the SX, and Cobra still makes an exhaust for them.
You can get a SuperTrapp on eBay for a reasonable price if you keep an eye out.

Well then :rolleyes: Get yourself a uni or a k&n air filter and get riding.

I think (my opiinion) that the sx is geared waaay to low to make any engine mods. ex. boring, port & polish etc. Not worth it I say. ;)

where do i get a bigger carb at? and yes it is gear way to low it revs so high in 5th sounds like its gonna blow up lol!

I believe you can use a 350x carb which is 4 mm larger then the SX I believe.

well well...this is what i did,removed the spark arrestor, iridium plug, k&n airfilter,mud lites on itp aluminum rims, installed a 200x front end(lighter than sx) i run a boost additive if i feel frisky and that is about it. i bought a gps the other day and on a dirt road it pulled 53 mph, not bad, but i have been faster in the winter on a hard pack snow trail. and to get her up to 50 mph is a breeze. the rims and tires are a must due to the lack of rotating weight.

I don't have near all those mods and mine will go just as fast.

But it might get to top speed as quickly tho.. lol....

That's the darn problem with the SX.. someone needs to figure out how to put a 6th gear in this sucker....

ya honda should not of put the s/l gear in it then it would have 5 gears inastead of s/l 1 2 3 4

the mods will give alot more grunt but not much more at the top. the only thing that will give more at the top is baloon tires that expand as the speed goes up. or is someone can produce gears for the rear. i was riding with a 185s about a month ago and he's got those big fartin tires and he past me at the top end, you should have seen those tires expand it was freaky.
the mods have helped me in the thick mud. i can keep it in third longer and second gear is simply a blast.
