Whats going on i just got my first trike 1983 225 dx super clean and stock as a rock .I need to find a carb rebuild kit for it and i would like to get some mods going i dont know how good of a trike thease are but this seams fun.Ive owend a 04 banshee it got stolen bout 4 months a go so i got this trike.You guys have any info for me and tips ?

Welcome to the board. Try your Yamaha dealer or maybe Bikebandit.com for a carb kit. Not sure if either have them but that would be my first 2 choices. As for mods, I would just stick to the usual aftermarket pipe & air filter for now. I wouldn't start messing with internals until the enine needs an overhaul. These are great trikes BTW. Forks are famous for bending though, so watch the jumping & of course, the inevitable crashes.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention ebay. Tons of stuff on there. Also, you better post a pic or two of your trike before edog is all over you. lol.

If the carb is in bad shape inside from water corrosion then you should just buy a new one from the Yamaha dealer for $150.If you would like to get a rebuild kit check out www.denniskirk.com.

lol ive got to run up to comp usa tonight to get my cable that runs from the cam-to the comp so i can upload some pics for you guys . i got the bike for 50 bucks and it runs but it pops some times kinda like a back fire and i need a new batt and the pull rope is broke in side the case and i cant get the cover off due to the screws :lol: ... but other than that its a good bike body is in awsome shape...



i looked under the bike for a oil plug to change the oil but i cant find a drain plug . i would like to change the trans oil allso .

The oil drain plug is under the motor on the left side sitting on the machine.It it in between the fame and the motor,the plug is resested in.

Click on the search link,then type in edog.Search trough them and you will find them.

is it ok to use some 10w30 ? with some lucas im trying to find info on oils to use for everything .

To get the skrews off us a pair of chanle locks.Just clam them on the head from above and turn.If you can get them turned 2 or 3 times them spray the bolt that goes into the motor with WD-40 in there and let it soak for a little wile,that should lossen them up.

well your bike looks alot better than mine lol . Mine is yellow so ill try and get the pics up soon .
