Ok.. so that is what my dads tap and die set looks like. I need to re-tap the holes for the heat sheild on my exhaust, and I have no clue how to use the set. Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions on this? lol

Hi I can,t see the photo in the link (i,m on a works computer) If its a metric tap and die set all you need to do is drill the appropriate size hole for the tap then use the taper tap to start (use cutting fluid) after a full turn of the tap reverse it so it breaks the swarf then carry on until thru the hole or till the tap hits the bottom ( be carefull cos taps are brittle) then use the plug tap to finish off the hole (the tap with full threads all the way) Tapping sizes are M3- 2.5mm drill,M4 - 3.3mm drill,M5 - 4.2mm drill, M6- 5mm drill,M8-6.8mm drill , M10 - 8.5mm drill ,M12 - 10.2 mm drill ..Hope that helps

it's fairly simple..Just use the next bigger size bit. Go slow and use some oil or wd-40 while your drilling it . then use the next bigger size bit. try not to break it off inside or your screwed.
