i started to redo a 1984 200es likea month ago well i got it just about done and now the dang thing wont run sometimes it will start with the choke on but if ya hit the gas it dies,if ya get it running and let off the choke it dies,if ya let off the choke and try to give it gas it dies.
Ive allready put a new plug in it the thing is it ran fine before i fixed the rear and forks and stuff i dont understand.
could having a exhuast on it now be like effecting the carb setting ya think anyone know the factory setting for this trike?

I got the manual PM me if you need details.
Was the carb opened up at all ?
Got fresh gas, clean petcock, etc. ???
Any chance timing might be off ?
What did you do to it exactly ?

Sounds like the fuel air mixture is off. If it's not that then try to advance the timing in small steps. I've got the repair manual on cd and wish there was somewhere for me to upload it for people to download instead of using paper back book. I always ruin repair manuals so with it on a cd I'll never screw this one up. Let me know if this helps.

This is a long shot..
Your gas cap would not be on OFF would it ?
( Venting issue ?? )

I know... but had to ask.. hahahahaha... it happens !
If it stalls as soon as you touch the gas.. i'd check the choke assembly.. make sure it's not stuck... remove the air filter and you can feel it without having to remove the carb !! Go on/off and check the flapper.
You said you had the tank off etc... remove the fuel line from the carb.. leaving it attached to the tank, and turn it to ON and REZ check for good flow.
Go from there.

Make sure you didn't pinch the fuel line when you put the tank back on.

We had this happening to our ES about a month ago. We couldn't figure out what it was, so we just took it to a shop (well.. my dad.. I was busy working on mine). And it ended up being the carb. I don't know what it was that was wrong with it.. but he told us that something was wrong with the carb. So take your carb out and clean it and make sure everything is ok.

Check the voltage on the battery terminals when it runs.. should read 14.xx volts.. if it only reads low 13's or 12 it's not charging.
