I bought 3 AMS FOX A/T KNOBBIE TIRES for my Honda 125 M and I love them. They got super Big Knobbies. Nice V Shape Pattern for Hardpack Trails, and the Knobbies are Big and Spaced apart Nicely so they can easily Spit out Mud and Snow, instead of Clogging up. They are 2-Ply

The Problem is I bought 3 New Tires and Two of the Leak Air at the base of some Knobbies. Looking at it it looks like they didnt form right and the Rubber looks Thin there. I can see Threads, it looks like in the Rubber there so to me they look like Defects with the Rubber being to Thin there. I allso saw Cracks in the Sidewall, Like DryRot but very Faint and hard to see.

The Tires on my Tecate and Zinger dont have these Cracks at all. The Zinger Tires probably have been on forever and the Tecate Tires about 3 Years. I ride my tecate about once a Month for about 5-10 minutes and have Yet to go through a Tank of Gas yet. No DryRot look on them.

Has anyone Else Have this problem, or has anyone read a Test about these tires, or heard from someone else about these. I would like the Same Knobbies but dont want to get jerked around with bad stuff. My Honda has been laid up all summer because the Shop Sux and the Tires were Bunk. Help a Brother out and let me know what ya heard.

Can you get a good pic of the knobby where you think it leaks?

I have the same tire and have not noticed anything wrong.

Sounds like a factory defect.

Problem is that now, they are "used" tires. However, I think you could reasonably describe the wear on the knobs is not significant enough for the tire rubber to be splitting at the base of the knobs. I'd take some detailed pics and plead your case to the manufaturer, or the dealer where you got them. Good luck.

So are these tires worth buying? I am in need of a front tire for my sx and was thinking either the fox like you have, Kenda, anything else you would recommend??

The Kenda Is not bad at all, I have one on My Tecate. The AMS Fox A/T are Baloon type Tires. They are very nice looking but I believe the Kenda is Stronger and it doesnt look like a Baloon type tire. Here is a Pic of a Kenda on a Trike.

I have them on the back of my 250sx. I had one that leaked like a bi_ch around the bead but not the tread. I slimed it and it hasn't went down in 7 months. I like the tires them self but they are radials and are alittle wierd after bias tires.

I took them all in and asked for the shop to reorder new ones. 2 out of 3 leaked at the base of some knobbies where the rubber looked thin. I hope the next 3 will not be faulty. I like these tires for the Honda plus for 35 dollars you cant go wrong. Unless they are Faulty :D
