Which one had horrible engineering, insufficiant power, or was just plain un-reliable? The worst trike of all time.
By the way, nobody better say "because it was way to fast (or powerful)", Because that just meens you don't have the ability to ride it!

Whick trike was the worst in history?????????

Hmmm... does it have to be an off road unit, or just something with 3 wheels?

I was going to say a tricycle... lol

Off road... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I'll go with.... one of the Suzuki trikes... since I can't think of anything else that's worse.

Polaris made a trike right? Bet that sucked....since all of their quads usually do. The predator is the one decent quad that roles out of their factories.......

are you on crack? all of the 4x4 atv reviews of the polaris quads always say they are built like a rock and are more reliable than anything else if they are taken care of properly....i love polaris' quads, except some of the new japanese built ones like that gay phoenix or its utility bodied copy..

Probably the 85 / 6 KLT kawasakis with electric only start, CDI, and the lock up diff,
When they wouldn't start you were/are hooped. 400 dollar CDI thats impossible to find, pin breaks in the rear end its a 4 hour fix in a shop with the right tools, impossible in the field. That being said I still ride them and love them like my children.

Mik6 has a Polaris Trike and it is Super Cool. I allmost bought one a few years ago on E-Bay, I wish I did, I could of won it but it was in New Hampshire so I lamed out. The Polaris Trike is by far one of the more rare trikes, Great for riding and Chores around the Property. :beer

I think the Kawasaki KLT's? or the Suzuki whatever its called, are probably some of the worst from what Ive read, but I never owned one so Im not sure.

I would also say those Kawasaki trikes suck pretty bad. Bud of mine bought one, could never get that damn starter clutch problem worked out. That was just one of the problems, it was by far the worst trike I have ever touched.

everything ive ever had to do with suzuki trikes was bad news. that 2cycle engine they had was total junk IMO

A friend of mine had a tri-moto 125...IMO it was a sorry-handling 3wheeler. The rearward placement of the motor made it want to wheelie at speed... may sound fun to some but not for me. Other than that all my time has been spent on Hondas (and I've got no problem with them)

Hmm. Shorly after I bought my SX, a friend of my dads said he worked with a guy that wanted to sell his Polaris Scrambler. He told me that it was a 3 wheeler and I was like "hmm.. never knew Polaris made a 3 wheeler" and he asked if I wanted it and told me taht the guy wanted $1000 for it and it was in great condition, just a few scratches here and there. I turned him down because I didn't know how good/reliable they were. I guess I should have scarfed it up. Ugh. Its just a great feeling to know that you passed up a rare trike :(

^^^ HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

aw well, least you won't have to worry about it's reliability, and you saved yourself 1K, thats always nice!

As far as polaris is concerned. I love their snowmobiles! They are the Honda of sleds. But when it comes to SPORT atv's...........They always give it some queer name too, scrambler, out-law, wow sounds like a real BAD-A** would be riding one of those!!!

Bad trike? No such thing, I've seen machines that are huge mechanical assholes yet we are still in love with them because they have an engine transmission and wheels!

08-08-2005, 11:12 PM
me neither but im new to the trike thing
that polaris looks pretty tough i dont know why some think they were unreliable it looks like the exact motor thats on my 89 trailboss 250 4 wheeler... that is 1 tough thing it has been there and back about 10 times lol i ride it so hard and let any1 else ride that wants to. so it gets abuse from all different angles. those pvt's are tough i cant break it, my pvt cover has been hanging loose for about 6 years so all the water mud etc... just goes right through it lol and it keeps on going. and have pulled over 2,000lbs with it also. dragging it not a trailer. the low gear is strong but the piss has been ridden out of it for 16 years and all that went wrong was the starter bendix, chain broke, bushings on the front( there plastic, im suprised they lasted that long...)and a rebuild.
good motor and im sure its a great 3 wheeler
and another thing.. you can rebuild that thing in 30 min's flat.

^Not true!! My dads 185S hauled me around for about 2 months until we sold it to my grandpa, and I'm 6'4" 260 lbs. Actually that little 185 was my favorite trike until I got my SX and we sold the 185.

I am not real fond of the early Kawasaki KLT 200's. I know they have lots of problems and they are heavy as hell. I know first hand because I am always pushing one of the 3 I own around. Never delt with a Suzuki trike but for some reason Suzuki's dont seem to like me (every time I ride one it breaks) so I could only imagine what kind of trouble I would have out of one.

THe Suzuki ALT125 was one of the dumbest IMO. After my grandpa bought one I found out that instead of 1 chain going to the axel you have 2 going to the axel

All the kawi's they just dont know how to build somthing that will stay together. Just look at all there MX bikes.

Personally I think one of the worst trikes made was the 200x. I only say that because every one I have ever seen has had at least one major problem. This excludes the 86-87's however. Now the thing about the kawi's not holding together well I will have to differ. Although my t-3 does rattle and vibrate a bit the only thing that has ever came apart was the rear shock resivoir holders.

What?. Although, I love my ALT125D ... I have absolutely NO reason why. Its way too under-powered (it won't go through more than 4" of anything but powder snow). Its low speed handling is truely horrendous (it wont turn and pushes unless you are going above 15mph). The first "Granny" gear is so steep it tops out at 3mph and is therefore useless. Its twice as tall as it is wide thanks to 22x10x8 tires on like 6" wide rims (a recipie for disaster - but good on tight trails where you CAN'T use the granny gear, because as stated before - its useless). The gas tank only holds a gallon or so of gas. Also, the peg to seat to handlebar placement is all out of whack - gives me a good, stiff back after about 1/2 of riding.

Maybe just me but that polaris is UGLY! Any suzuki trike has got to be a pile but I never rode one so who's to say. I did ride a John Deere trike some years ago when I saw it rotting in a friend's backyard and it was slow, wouldn't steer well and had poor brakes.

this hurts but i have to go with 90nut my 200x is a money pit ive thrown over a 600 into it since the day i bought it and still have yet to get a full tank of gas through it without something going wrong, it basicaly runs when it wants to....but i will say that whenever it decides to run i have an awesome time on it. followed by hours of wrenching lol

Nothing is worse than or close to a trimoto 125. Biggest piece of junk ever and I have proof!!! mine did nothing but fall apart. Stuff that i never touched broke. impossible to get to stay running for more than five minutes. With this said anyone want to buy a basket case trimoto 125 plus a bunch of parts. I'll never sell it cause i'll never find a bigger sucker!!!

that is not true rustbucket. i think the yt 125 is a great trike (that is all i own, but i have ridden many other trikes) and IMO its the best 125 trike there is. i'm not sure why yours has so many problems but mine hasnt had a single thing go wrong. and the worst trike?....i'm really not sure but i think the Yt125 is a fun little trike.

I cant offer any trikes for being worst. but i do find it hard to believe that the klt's are the worst trikes out there yes they have problems but there has to be worse trikes made. lol if they are the worst trikes made then thats great as i think there good so im gonna be extra happy when i get to ride one of the good trikes :naughty:

I know the worst one. My Pheonix Engineering INC. trike. ****** no suspension, 5 hp cintrifical clutch engine with go cart type brakes. It even has a 125+ tooth rear sproket yet according to the previous owner you had to really rev it to go up hills.also it doesnt even have lug nuts, just 1 big ass nut that goes on

This is for all you KLT haters in here,
I have a KLT 110 that is bad *****, starts on one pull , runs my 240lbs around with out any problem , and pulls a trailer without any problem.

Just wanted to stand up for the Kawa's

The Kawasaki KLT110!

GAY :( ahhahaha how many of them have you owned billy :P

I could name about 50 improvements over a honda 110, including a real frame big enough that your knees aren't in the handlebars, front brakes, rear storage compartment, vertical motor, etc

no way a kawasaki is worse than a trimoto. If kawasaki even thought of putting suspension on they were farther ahead than yamaha. I got smoked on my 125 by a 110. The only thing my 125 did well was break, and it didn't have any brakes no matter how much i dinked with it. Plus I never see any laying around cause they went to the crusher.

well, in my experiance in trikes, and this experiance has been going on for about 3 years now, i would have to say the worst trike i have rode/used/abused (hehe) was a 1982 Honda 200

that thing ran like a diesel, tons of torque, but it wouldnt do anything more then 25 mph, my little cousin beat me on his little BM80!!

the bike was great looking though, repainted tank, mint plastics, new decals, but it wasnt fast, the brakes sucked (brand new too, and they were properly set up) new tires, newer handle bars and a recovered seat, and the thing was un reliable and with shoddy brakes, i only used it for about 2 hours, lol

yamaha 225DX, Honda 125m..

No experience with the 125m, but I agree with the 225dx as one of the most unreliable bikes. I bought mine rode it half a day and ended that day with a broken universal joint, middle drive gear, and broken teeth in the tranny, which sent me over the bars on blacktop in third gear. It was a great trike for that one day though. ;)

The Honda 125 M is a nice little Trike. I have one, all original and it Pulled my Tractor out of a Deep Mud Hole. I didnt even have it in Low Gear. I love my 125 M. I hope to drag a few deer this fall with it. Its a fun ride to cruise around on, but its a little small for my 5' 10" body. That one problem isnt enough to make me dislike the Honda 125 M. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Hey guys looks like somebodys started something here.. Coming from a area full of vineyards, all the farmers had trikes ( checking the irragation) Ive ridden most trikes (japs ones ) The kawka KLT 200"s were probably the worst.. But thats only my opinion.!!!!!!!!!

I'll second the tri-moto 125. The sucker goes into a death wobble above 35, has the cheesiest shift linkage I've ever seen, and a pretty fragile bearing carrier.

Well it sounds like most of you guys think the old kawasakis sucked. My friend that i ride with has a 200 kawasaki, dont know what year or model it is, but it has ran pretty good for him and he can keep up with or beat me on my 84 200s. It does basically feel like you are riding on a brick with wheels on it, but he seems to like it for just running around and beating on it. Lets just say that i wouldnt want to trade with him.
