from my understanding a 200 autox is a 200x with a 200s motor right?? i was thinking i might try and find a 200s motor to throw in this seeing as how my motor needs alot of work.. i have a few questions though, how well does this bolt up?? is there much motor mount fabrication needed?? does the motor perform as well?? and what other changes are needed besides motor??

i think you can just drop a 200s motor in....i could be mistaken but im pretty sure you can

what about performance i want something that is going to perform as well or better than the 200x stock.

Yeah same thing just you got to jerry rig your rear brake lever thats all. Bolts right up,.

i saw a bike like that , but it had a 185s motor in it. the description said there was no power lost, it looked like the best of both worlds: no shifting, and awesome frame ergonomics and suspention. i imagine it would be really fun on trails.

I've never riden a 200x, but a 200s is plenty peppy. I do want to build one of those some day, maybe the winter after this one.

Anyone know anything about how to rig up the rear brake lever on the handlebars???

i had an auto-x, was an awesome trail bike, would stay with a 400ex and yfz through the trails, and it floats through the woops. i actualy still have my custom break leaver if anyone wants to buy it (its a foot pedal) its not a great looker but it definetaly works. if anyone wants it send me a pm.

the motor just bolts in with the regular 200x mounts. but you need the 200x intake manifold. but you should use the 200s carb. very fun bike, but i hate the pull starter.. dents up ** tank..

it definetaly isnt a 200x motor though, it does not have as much power, i could only get it to wheelie in 1-2 gear, it will top out around 55. but in the trails it just floats over everything and * can barely tell your going slow because you can easily handle everything and keep up with almost anyone.

The most difficult part of the conversion is the rear brake pedal. It mounts to the motor on the 200x, and to the frame on the 200s. You will have to fab a pedal mount. Search the forums, there are some good detailed pics in old posts.

I thought about the rear brake pedal question on the 200x. If you had and 86 or 87 200x the pedal is on the frame like the 350x. I always thought about getting an inexpensive hydraulice clutch reservoir and just running a long line back to the rear brake. There are places that can make custom hydraulic lines or you could use russell brake line pieces and put something together. The rear brake pedal would look slicker but this should work just as well and some people might have an used hydraulic clutch reservoir on hand already.
