Hey guys...i've been trying to take the clutch side cover off of my 85 200x because its about time to replace it and its been slipping alot. Well i got all the crap off to get to the case (footpegs, clutch cable...etc) and now that i've gotten all of the bolts out of the case i completely forgot about how i am supposed to get that clutch tab that the cable connects to off.

does anybody know how to get this off? is that all i need to get off until the case comes off...

oo ya...iv had that stupid manual for this bike for over 2 years and now that i actually need it for something i can't find the darn thing

thanks guys i need some help quick cause im completely stuck until i figure this out.

all * gotta do to get the cable off of that thing is losen the left nut untill it comes off the threads n then * can pull the slide the cable out of the gap in it, and if * wanna take that actual thingy off * just losen the nut holding it on i believe..

thanks...i got the cable off but the part i am having trouble with is the actual piece that the cable pulls that goes down into the case and pulls your clutch. As far as i can tell there is no nut to loosen this and i dont want to try spinning it off counter clock wise.

lol...ya my terminology isn't the best in the world...i ride em i dont name em...

nope not the tensioner bracket...i took that off and disconnected the cable

but i am pretty sure you can't take the case off until you take out off that piece...but what the heck...im headed out right now with a rubber mallet and if anything breaks i was planning on fixing it anyways...haha

nope...that case is driving me crazy...i need to find my manual to figure out what i forgot to do to get that thing off...i mean i did everything i could think of to get it off...

first i took off the right peg...took off the kickstarter...disconnected the clutch cable at the base(on the case)...unscrewed all the bolts and it wont come off...i just can't think of how to get it off....

what did i forget?

man i need somebody to go through step by step and tell me how to get this off...

this is a hit to my pride...lol...

thanks

i just looked through the manual and it dosnt say anything about taking that out to get the case off, * should just have to unscrew all the bolts and it should pop off. is it possible that the case was siliconed or there was something else used to seal it, because it should just pop off... did * take the case for the kickstarter off also? im not posotive but that might have to be taken off before the clutch case can come off...

ya the i took the kick starter off cause that definately has to come off...you know now that you mentioned it i just started checking around the case and it looks like it might have had some seal-a-gasket on there ...well i guess im gonna go to beating on it as much as my better sense says not to...

so did you get the cover off? yea if its slipping you might want some new plates, and possibly some stiffer springs.
